Rainy Day Fun

Coming off the heels of a fever-y cold thing on Pavin's part, today's rain ushered in yet another day inside. I knew we were really gonna have to pull out all the stops in the creative activity department, lest we explode into a fiery ball of tantrums and lunacy. Here are a few of the highlights in pictures.

Pavin spent the day getting his hair styled (while Mommy was on the phone) with about 12 oz. of Vaseline and a Snow White crown. He was being serenaded, "Happy Birthday" when I made this discovery. His locks have been washed 5 times...with no end to the greasiness in sight.

With tiara happily removed, he was free to hang with his buddy Finn. Each taking turns scratching and spinning out the Baby Einstein hits.

Gracen enjoyed a fun day painting with window markers...

Snacking while crafting...

And teaching Jack Boy to slow dance in the living room. :)

Her little "prince" was hilarious and his level of concentration, admirable. Note the position of his feet, as this picture was snapped as they lunged into a waltz (of sorts).

All in all another great day with these lovely, nutty, priceless, little kiddos.

9 months of Payco, a new start for Grayco

As if our house wasn't crazy enough, Pavin is now really coming into his own...crawling, diving and at times mysteriously catapulting himself into everything and anything...especially those bathed in electrical cords, food of any kind and dog hair. The last 9 months have passed in a flash and we are looking more and more into the eyes of a little boy instead of a baby. Weighing in at nearly 21 pounds and a healthy 30 inches high, he is now a force to be reckoned with. :) He is still just about the sweetest little thing on the planet and loves to cover us in wet, sloppy kisses. This photo captures a rare serene moment, curled up with Freddy on the couch.

Other times, the scene looks more like this.

My friend Maura and I used to laugh when we'd open up the One Step Ahead catalog and see helmets for infants and toddlers to wear around the house to avoid injury. Now that I have a boy, I'm beginning to understand the invention.

Gracen began her first day of real preschool today. She really enjoyed the summer program, but now it's down to business! :)

She was happy to give out goodbye smooches and thrilled that her Daddy got to drop her off.

PS...Grayco is not an official nickname for Gracen...in fact she hates it and throws a fit of protest whenever it is uttered. It just worked for the post title...so I went with it.
