Pumpkins, take two!

Our second trip to a pumpkin patch this year thankfully included Gracen too. The Hampton Lake PumpkinFest proved to be outstanding. :) Gracen picked a terrific pumpkin, while Pavin pointed at all the "balls".

Gracen even tried her hand at a little pumpkin rolling. The first pic is just before the race, the second is the instant she discovered that rolling pumpkins means mud on your hands. This invoked a very early forfeit. :(

If she wasn't havin' the mud, she certainly wasn't fond of the pumpkin guts spilled later that evening. All were pleased however with the finished (albeit very girly) product.

PS...Let the music keep playin'...the Tide's still rollin'! :)

Caution! Spoiler...

I know I should wait until Halloween to post costume photos. But this was too good to wait for!

Our MOPS group had a playdate today at Cahill's. They always have the sweetest little pumpkin patch out front. The little kiddos wore their costumes and played in the pumpkins...or "balls" as Pavin kept chanting. Gracen was is school, so I'm refraining from talking about how much fun it was in front of her. But the kids were so adorable and the big ol' white lab that hangs out at the market was Pavin's best friend.

While his costume will have much more context when his sister stands along side. For now, here's a peek at the cutest fish I've ever seen. :)

Good times!

Fall...cooler temperatures...fun autumn activities...the kick-off to the holiday season...the whole bit! I am beyond excited about all of the craziness and blessings that are sure to be within the next couple of months.

The kids are loving the weather these days too and have regained their appreciation for the back yard. Pavin can now happily join in on the action and is all smiles as he trudges through the grass and dirt...a concept completely lost on his sister. He is pretty close to walking, though we aren't rushing anything.

Gracen loves playing with her brother and takes her role as big sister to heart. Jealousy has been rearing its head from time to time lately, prompting a few more "watch me"s than usual...which is fine because there always seems to be something worth watching. She is really coming into her own. She's been super chatty and extra inquisitive in the last few weeks. She's doing well in school. Her teacher is lovely, patient and very "old school"...which is great.
